RFM12B 433 MHz

€6.50 - €29.50

The RFM12B radio module by HopeRF is a small wireless radio module for sending and receiving packets on the 433 MHz ISM band using FSK. There are two variants, the -S1 series with a metal can crystal and the more expensive -S2 type using a low profile, SMD crystal. We supply the height-saving SMD crystal type.

This module is used by all JeeNodes and JeeLinks. It is controlled via the SPI bus, and works with a power supply level of up to 3.8 V.

This module is pin compatible with all JeeNodes and JeeLinks (but these usually ship with the 868MHz module for use across Europe). Many Country Administrations also allow this ISM band and other equipment such as weather stations may use this band.

Please check your country local regulations before ordering this module - even if other vendors are shipping equipment using this band to your country, you will be committing an offence using this ISM band if it is not specifically allowed.

An antenna is needed –  a 165mm piece of wire can be used (a quarter wavelength at 433MHz).

For more information, see HopeRF’s RFM12B specification. For details on how to hook it up and an Arduino library with sample C code, see this post on the JeeLabs daily weblog.

For a breakout board for this module and a 5V option, see the RFM12B Board.
