Carrier Board (v2)

€4.50 - €12.00

The Carrier Board is a re-wiring option which sits between a JeeNode and its plugs. It has exactly the right size to fit snugly in a compact ABS plastic box, made from two identical, standard depth half-shells which click together.

The JeeNode (V6, SMD or USB) can be mounted with the connector facing either outwards or inwards. All four ports are re-routed to 11 different 6-pin header positions. This allows multiple I2C plugs to be connected to one port, for example, or to place all the ports on one side of the box. SImply populate the positions you need for your project. There's also a spot for boards with two opposing headers, such as the Room Board.

If the PWR/SER/I2C connector and the SPI/ISP connector are populated, then these too can be accessed from the other side of the Carrier Board. There's a built-in FTDI compatible 6-pin interface, as an alternative for the one on the JeeNode - or for the SMD Kit, which has none.

There is room for a standard AC or DC power jack, which can be connected as needed. By creating a slot in the top plastic shell, you end up with a power connection which is robustly secured to the Carrier Board.

For maximum expandability, all 19 I/O pins are brought out in a single row on one side of the Carrier Board. This lets you use this in combination with one or two larger boards. The Carrier Card is one such option, but you can also use plain perf-board for this purpose, since all connector pins are on a 0.1" grid.

See this page for an overview of the numerous combinations possible with the Carrier Board.

The Board w/ Box option includes the Carrier Board, a set of Plug Headers, a 5.5/2.1 mm AC/DC power jack socket, and the slim grey plastic ABS box as the two mating half shells for which the Carrier Board was designed.

The PCB only Version contains just the board. No parts, no headers.
